As I was preparing to launch my company as a professional organizer, I was privileged to work part-time at Irwin’s Hallmark, Gahanna. The hardest part of the job was to not covet the awesome purses that hit my check out counter! The thing I did not envy was the embarrassment of women (with the most wonderful purses!) who could not find anything in them.
By that time, I was busy researching any and all things organized. I wanted so badly to share with those customers the really neat purse organizers that are out there. Now that I am my own boss, I am free to share that information with you!
- My favorite is the Pouchee! This stand alone organizer has both inner and outer pockets to hold all the important things you need, where you can find them easily. Then, to change purses - remove the Pouchee from one purse and transfer it to another – DONE in 5 seconds! The silver handles and squared off bottom make it easy to grab the insert alone to run to the store. Materials to choose from are cotton or leather in a variety of solid colors.
- Another style of organizer has pockets that wrap around the inside edges of your purse. The Container Store has its version with one style and two color choices for $19.99. For selection alone, I am partial to the Purseket (below left) if you go this route. Pursekets come in sm, med, and lg, so you can customize your purse liner to who you are – the small purse or large purse type? The original style comes in classic and fun cotton patterns with pockets ranging from 3-5″ wide.
- The Purse Pleaser (above right) is a rigid organizer made of lightweight plastic, with pockets sized to fit the usual paraphernalia (lipstick, cellphone, glasses.) The Purse Pleaser Bonus kit includes three sizes so you can customize for any purse. Maybe it is just that I love the softness of fabric and leather, this option does not appeal to me at all.
Now that I’ve outlined a few of the better choices in purse organizers, let me close with the “Rolls Royce of Organized Purses“, the Butler Bag. Do not say that name in a crowd of professional organizers! Our ears pick up and we start salivating. These bags have a classic look with organizing compartments built into the entire body of the purse, as well as several outer pockets, one zippered. As I am writing this, the style I have pictured for you is out of stock in each of the four colors.
The Butler Bag ranges in price from $165 to $1600. That is one Killer Purse AND Organized!
